Ac taco

Postby Watfordwhite » Sun Oct 21, 2018 7:10 pm

Had a SIP speedo on the GP, not overly impressed to be honest.
However I would like a small rev counter mounter on the led shield tool box on my S2.
Any suggestions or recommendations? It runs a standard AC system, but does have an MBD rectifier with a DC output.
Electrical only, as I'm not looking for a Smiths cable type run through the crankcase.

This is what I use, simple, internal battery that lasts about a year, cable wraps around HT lead. Got this on my series 2 rat, which has a nice original decently accurate speedo. I've got a SIP on my series 3, mainly because the speedo was crap.

Thanks for the link Paul, but I was looking for something more period and round... :-). 50mm diameter, black or white face. Call me fussy but...

Gaz, what's a tiny taco?

Tim, sounds interesting. Could you give me any more details?

Tiny Tach tacho are digital but just a small box shape not retro, but they work well.

Tiny tach as Paul said are very simple using only a cable round the HT and react at about .5 second to the rev changes
