Less than 3.5 thousand miles on the kit.

I feel your pain.had that happen on 2 kits in 12 months. 1 RT225 and the other, an Avanti TT which decided to go en route to the euro last year. Good luck getting it sorted

I thought they had sorted the problem with ring pegs coming out, is yours an early kit?

I'm going to take it to a local bike shop to see if it's salvageable. Once we know the oversize where do I find the recommended piston to bore clearance for the kit?

Yep. +1 Mine went on the way to the Euro last year as well. (Pro Porting 283 with a jet ski piston) trashed the piston, the barrel and the crank!!

I was thinking the same thing Chris, I couldn't figure how we got from a 4th oversize Jet 200 to a buggered GT kit until I checked the posters names :?

How are we doing Kilsh, any further with it?

Sorry for the thread hijack.
I thought I had the same problem at first so didn't want to start a new thread for the same subject.

Here's my RT after dropping a peg at the Derby150 last year. I'd had the kit since 2013 but the piston was newish and had only been in a year but was the old type. MB replaced the kit which I thought was excellent service... good luck...

Good result but you'll never know which component was faulty now. Which one are you going to bin, or will you do what we all do and put them both in a drawer?

Rode 15 miles times x2 ways today seemed fine on way back spluttered about a bit thought oh fuck then used the old foot on to reserve and seemed ok pulled in to station put 5-75 litres in at 3% fully Simfetic ok after that was that right to be on reserve with 2 litres left in tank ?? So still need to give it a longer run to see if she cuts out fingers crossed
