Chopping forks

Postby SlackerThePinstriper » Mon Feb 18, 2019 1:55 pm

I have a set of GP forks I want extending but unsure where to cut.
Does anybody have a measurement of how far up the rod goes?

There is a dimple in the fork leg that corresponds to the location of the fork spring buffer stop. You can use this as a guide.

Alternatively, visit Wicksteed Park next week. You might find a set already done, and you might be able to sell your existing set of unaltered forks to finance the deal. It would save a lot of hassle to pick-up a pair that have already been altered.
