some time ago I read that it is advisable to put washers behind the protec shock absorber aswell as the usual washers.anyone know if this is correct and why?

Hi.
I have on mine but I’m sure the rule is to have the centre of the shocker in line with the rear of the body work!
Cheers Shane.

now took delivery of shock absorber and found it has to be packed off at the back to push spring away from rear mudguard.the bush is not as wide as original so spring fouls on damper if not packed off.those spare clutch shims are perfect for the job.
