More Fun , Jetting a 150 with 175 head

Postby frostymuzic » Thu Jul 11, 2019 6:49 pm

Good evening ,
Ok a Big thanks for all the gearing advise in another thread,
This Time it is Jetting
I have a 175 kit 42 clubman exhaust and the 22 mil Carb of the jetex type, :D on a standard Li 150 ( eibar)
Have tried the Gp200 set up as per manuals! and she is very boggy, I am thinking atomizer ??
So any suggestions on Jets atomizer slide etc, I have ordered some atomizers to try different things,
anyone running similar ??
Thanks for any advice, hopefully not everyone is out riding in the sun :D
Regards Dave

Like you I would have started with the GP200 settings. My first thought is that your airbox is struggling to flow enough air but I’ve never worked on a Spanish bike so don’t know how good they are. On My Li150 with a 200 engine, 22/2 carb and clubman I drilled the standard air box. Revs out fine. I’ve done this mod with 25mm carbs too.

Thanks Paul, Never drilled an air box before , ? any advice on doing this where to drill etc, what side is best ?
She definitely run better without the air hose on , so maybe you are right ,

If the airbox has a funnel in the neck that needs removing

Front face of box, ie next to tool box, just get creative with holes and open them up with a tapered bit. I keep to the top half of this face.
If you do this no need to remove the neck. Or if you’re feeling flush MB developments do a standard looking high flow air box kit that looks stock.
