Any input on the Readspeed lukas cdi unit. Looks a decent piece of kit.

Is the AC for the lights fed into the CDI box, where it is rectified & regulated and sent out power on the red wire at 12v DC?

I note two yellow feed wires, so does the stator need converting to DC first?

Does the CDI box use some of that power to replace the role of the LT coil?

If so, I have achieved a similar set-up using a wassell, Scootronics universal CDI and a separate HT coil. I guess my set-up is slightly cheaper (not much), but the Reedspeed box has the potential to make for some neater wiring.

I look forward to reading more on this subject.

I use it for A/C ignition and lighting, with the lighting coils providing the power.I use it with an Anthony Tambs external pick up(switchable with the internal pick up).I also have a Anthony Tambs cdi on another scooter which does the same job.
