Does someone have the spring for the kickstart piston & Layshaft spring to hand for measuring purposes?

The spring I am trying to get into the layshaft is 35.5mm and a complete basterd

Much obliged in advance

Scott.

If its the one spring with bearings on either side they are a bastard to fit.Putting them in a bag to fit them is the best idea, that way if the bearings come out they will still be in the bag and not rolling around on the floor.

I use an old selector and squeeze the two together I found this is easiest way.

CASA Selector (Blue) are great, not to heavy on gear change, great for 5 speeds as well which do tend to need a higher loaded spring to stop any issues, particularly to stay in 5th

Agree - this is the simplest way I’ve used. If you search this forum there is a full thread about easiest way and a video to demonstrate

The trouble with that method is,you need two selectors, not everyone has got two(one new one and one old one)

It’s been years since I done one ( with exception to a cyclone box 3 yr ago or so, can’t remember that one) One previous to that I pushed in a ball bearing with each hand & wapped the head on the sliding dog into place! My forehead is pretty sore after trying with a 35mm spring
