Clutch

Ok boys your views please complete rebuild when trying to start can feel the clutch slightly engaging.slack clutch off starts fine then it’s not engaging enough when in gear ? It one or the other

Not enough separation between the plates. A quick fix is to fit an MB short clutch arm that will give you slightly more travel. Failing that strip and fit clutch compressor, tighten and check for free play between plates, can’t remember the figure off top of my head but think it’s 1.5mm of free play.

Ok thanks for that if there isn’t that amount of travel how can that be achieved ..?

Im having trouble understanding exactly what your problem is :? Does it slip when accelerating in gear or is it not disengaging fully?

Also, what sort of clutch is it? You only really need to worry about seperation clearance with 5 or 6 plate clutches, If its an Li I take it you did fit the little nipple to the clutch bell?

Standard li clutch yes nipple is on it is not engaging enough I may shorten the clutch arm also I have sundance grips
Which I believe may be stopping the lever from pulling up enough

Have you tried the clutch arm with an adjustable spanner to see if it works properly, may need to get one of your mates to do the gears.
