I'm fitting an earlier Spanish type engine to my series 80 Frame. The frame has the mounting for the fat rear damper and the case is the Italian type.

Is it as simple as fitting one of these spacers to the frame? There seems to be 1cm difference between the two mounts but want to check before using.

You can buy an Italian length damper mount for a similar price from Scooter Restorations and change it.

Just noticed your doing it the other way, oops!

AS per my reply on FB, I have a section of steel tube about 7-8mm on mine with an R1 shock. Ideally the spacer could do with being a tad longer say 8-10mm but mine has been on for a number of years and has not caused ony problems. However, being an R1 I dont do to nuts up tight as they dont like sideway loads caused by the silent blocks flexing.

I just drilled the centre out an old nut all you need to make sure that the washer on the outside sits on the shoulder of the mounting and still allows the shocker to pivot without there being any sideways movement
