I have both a GP and LI points flywheel but the GP fins are mostly broken and the LI one is perfect. Is swapping the GP boss into the LI flywheel a feasible proposition? This is not a long term solution but I am just trying to get a running engine together

Yes.
If you also tap the boss carefully to M6, no nuts are required. High tensile socket button head screws Loctited in place offer a very neat solution. No washers if the OEM rivet plates are re-used.
