Seeing there's a lot more options now what's people's choices for a layshaft using an Rb 20 or quattrini kit. Never had any issues with sil ones but never put this much power through one.

Depending on how old the lay shaft is would be a choice in changing it, although nowt wrong with Sil along with mecur,Mb’s, casa, etc etc. Just depends on how deep ur pocket is ;)

mainly, if you're using an old one (whether Italian or Indian) check the splines for squareness, bearing faces, check the threads for the hub & mainly (IMHO) the machinists under cut (RADIUS) where the threads meet the splined section :shock:
