Storing and Preservation

Postby GExS » Tue Jul 13, 2021 9:16 am

I live abroad but have a scooter in mother garage for when I come on my holidays to the UK. I’ve not been back for 2 years because of Covid and when I got back I was shocked to see a lot of surface rust. Any tips on storage and preservation?

Clean off the rust and use ACF50.

Used one of these in my garage for years and it kept the scooter perfect. https://www.vac-bag.co.uk/test-category ... c-bag.html

as previously stated
- clean off the rust
- Wash & dry thoroughly
- empty fuel bowl on carb if possible
- make sure tank is full of petrol & oil
- cover with ACF50 liberally. I normally get a bottle - but for this use the aerosol version may be better
- cover with a blanket

Keep it off the ground too. A half pallet is good for this.
