I took some wide AF rims with 100/90 tyres front and back off a scooter I bought. I only noticed when I took the rear off that the tyre had been rubbing on the engine casing and has almost worn through to the threads. Apart from the odd occasion to lower gearing by fitting a 100/80 rear tyre, I've never seen any wide rims or tyres used in BSSO racing. Wide tyres cause understeer making the scooter want to go straight on instead of turning.
