Series 3 clutch lever arm problem

Postby jdevane5 » Thu Sep 09, 2021 6:03 pm

I'm just rebuilding my scoot and having a problem with the clutch lever arm spring... once fitted it sends the top circlip flying across my workshop.
Now I have a new lever, clutch lever spring and new clutch lever shaft, checked the lever and the height is good for the top circlip slot engagement.
Circlip seems a good one as well.

But - the spring is really hard to get on, feels way to strong for the job. Not sure where I got the spring from but has anyone else come across this problem??

Just ordered a new spring from MB to see if that sorts it.

I would be looking at either the circlip groove in the shaft or the circlip because clearly the circlip is not seating properly in the groove. You are sure the groove is fully above the clutch arm?

All sorted, it was the lever arm body.
Bad design and the boss was to high obscuring some of the circlip slot.
Milled some material off the lever arm base and all fits and works well.
Ordered an MB arm as back up.

Cheers
