Spinning rear hub bearing

Whilst prizing the rear hub bearing oil seal out we noticed that the outer bearing itself would rotate in casing. There is no actual play but it's not an interference fit. We refitted it with a bead of locktite around the edge. My question is, is this an exceptable fix? I can't be arsed to strip engine again.

Your expert opinions will be greatly appreciated!

I think that any movement would inevitably lead to wear and then excessive play. And there isnt much backup/plan B with a rear hub bearing if it goes.

You need the right grade or strength of loctite for this
I had an engine mount that just dropped in once. It was fine and never moved once fitted using the correct grade retaining compound.

I just had a quick lookup on the loctite site and looks like you need to consider loctite high strength retaining compound 638

you could allways gouge some grooves where the bearing sits in the casing then add loadsa loctite & sealant :?
buuuuuuuuuuuut I'm sure Broady does a slightly oversize brg for this instance 8-)

/\/\ was just looking at them yesterday ; oversized OD with a o ring... Not a bad price and includes a seal
Seems like a good idea.
