Ignition series 2

Postby Specialcase » Thu Apr 28, 2022 2:02 pm

This is my first ser2 and I’m not sure how original this is? I thought they had a kill button and lock on the side. Anyone got an image of what it should look like? It’s a 1961 model
TIA

I haven't a picture to show but the top hole should be a kill switch and the lower hole is the place for the steering lock. As can be seen the previous owner has fitted a key switch which instead of the kill switch.

No Guys it’s a ‘61 Li150 the livery is some Italian football team! it’s unsiezed so gonna have a go at getting it up and running, no battery, no key and I don’t think it’s an Innocenti ign lock (no number) so may have to get a new one. Clean tank & Carb “ Bob’s your Uncle Charlie’s your aunt” job done! This restoration Malachi is so easy!!

While I’ve got your attention, I can’t work out how the side panels fit on as it came without the panels so I reckon someone’s taken em off. Can’t fine any images in sticky’s or on line - anybody help?
Cheers

Normally have a bracket each side that is welded to the frame loop.
Sometimes the rear wheel side gets trimmed down to aid removal of the rear wheel.

Hey Duncan - would you have a picture of the brackets as I can’t seem to see any on mine. Could be that they were removed as the bike had no side-panels!

Thanks for all the info ref ign lock. The side panel fixings have been removed hence it came without side panels, will have to get a new bracket and weld it on!

This might help. I haven’t used one so can’t vouch for them.

That looks like a brilliant idea, intended for the left side but looks like it could be fettled to fit both sides possibly

They are at a different angle
But if you message Jon Betts (JB Fabrication)
I’m sure he can make you one for yours at correct angle
