Garmin Forerunner 205/305 are another option. There are more of them available on the auction sites and tend to be cheaper, just need to replace the standard watch strap with a Velcro one.

LambrettaUpgrades sell one, with amounting bracket. It works a treat.

I use a Xoss gps. Same as the Garmin's but cheaper.

I use the Xoss items as well. Got it a couple of years ago and it's been fine. Fixes to handlebars with a couple of strong elastic bands, works better then it sounds! If you get one, I'd recommend you download the Xoss app and check regularly for updates to the unit to keep it sweet.

I've been using this one, works well and is accurate. Easy to read speedo display too.

Do any of the GPS’s mentioned work with just a SIM card? I’m looking for one that doesn’t need an iPhone.

The Garmin ones are stand alone - no sim card or phone required
