GP Clutch arm not returning

Hi,
Im in the final stages of my 150dl rebuild. Im having problems with the clutch arm. I have fitted a MB arm and MB spring, but with the clutch cable tight and trunion fitted, when I pull the clutch lever in the arm doesnt spring back when I then release the lever.
Any clues as to what is happening?
Engine was completely rebuilt - Im not sure if I have added the gearbox oil yet.

Cheers

Release your clutch cable and try the arm itself by using an open ended 14 or 17 mm spanner. If it doesn’t spring back on it’s own then I’m sure it will be casing cover off and check the whole arm mechanism.

Whilst the clutch arm has a little external return spring, the job of returning the clutch arm is the principally carried out by the big springs in the middle of the clutch.

Is you clutch working when the engine is running?

the engine hasnt been run for over a year when it was originally rebuilt just to test it.

Im not sure if the clutch has ever worked.?!
