Electric starter ring gear

Can anyone identify the source of this ring gear?

Image

The image was produced by Mark Broadhurst in a recent FB post. I have asked him where it was sourced and he replied that it was “as supplied”. He says that he is never doing another electric start Lambretta, so I don’t feel I am stepping on his toes by planning to build my own (actually, I have built one before, with laughable results, but I can’t remember here I found the ring gear for my 1990’s version).

Any clues or suggestions?

I assume it’s the business referred to in this article, Martin.

Thanks Paul. Sadly, I can’t view the images on the Scooterlab webpage on my iPad, which is a shame. I will have to look on the same site on a PC.

I have found this video, which is at about my level of engineering.

He has taken the ring gear off a Vespa flywheel and reduced the number of teeth to 80. That's all very well, but how did he do that and keep it round?

I have sent him a question.
