Casa are looking to remake S3 frames and forks in Italy. Is that a good thing?

I don't see why not as long as it is clearly identified and sold as what it is, a new frame. I like the idea of them continuing the original numbering sequence and hopefully that might deter some people from trying to pass them off as original.

i wonder if they will all be sx/tv 200 frames :) seriously though, as stated what is the market? can,t see them being registered as new bikes, or Q plates. could "improvements" be made i.e manifold clearance. what i do think would work would be new loops.

By that, do you mean the top loop (the bit you sit on)?

Yes, seat arch or what ever the term is. they seem to have been in demand for a few years to rebuild cut downs and choppers, got a tv200 frame myself that needs one.

Get a new frame. You can cut the loop off that. :D

That opens a can of worms regarding ringing.....

I'd have thought it would make more sense to make panels, legshields, headsets, horncasts etc, those original items that are sought after but only available as remades - usually of poor quality.

There's no apparent shortage of frames.

Would imagine a bigger demanĸ for hoops than whole q plate frames.
But if hes makung whole frames cant see why he wouldnt sell hoops seperatly.

I'd have thought the new frames would be manufactured to accept the larger barrels/casings that are coming on the market. More clearance between the cylinders and frame would be a big asset and allow more options.

Sounds like it could be a nightmare for myself and the Registrations Team but will reserve judgement,

new frames? effectively, surely this will make them a new scooter and therefore be registered as such and fall foul of all sorts of regs, such as the need for indicators etc..... and emissions tests??

new frames have been available in the past from scooter restorations and from rayspeed, these were indian and come minus any frame number, if casa make them they will be great quality as all there stuff is, but they will not have numbers, would cause a big headache in registering them i suspect, will be ok for a replacement on an existing scooter but you would be best to keep the original frame to prove why its been swapped, as said could encourage ringing, especially high value scooters

Everybody will be on the lookout for indian vin plates or a good set of punches. Recipe for disaster this one.

I thought they were saying they would be numbered but continuing on from the numbers we already have. Would this then give a year of manufacture ie the year the frame is made.
