and herein lies the problem, as a 2018+ new production, would it be subject to all the type approval, regulation etc for a new vehicle

I have to say, if I had the money, I wouldn’t be too precious about building a top engine, say, the future LC 300 Granturismo, into a new frame and losing an age related plate.
