If you don't care about looks,
ScootRS make strong kickstarts with good splines and nice chrome but they don't look like the originals.

Thanks for the info Gents.

Just looking for one that has been hardened correctly & is a good quality fit & finish. Forgot to say it's for a series 3 GP.

SPAQ kickstarts are identical to ScootRS,
Ι don't know if they are manufactured in the same factory.
Both are well made and very strong but they look 'strange'.

A comparison between a Spaq (Top) and an original SX200 kickstart (bottom).

A few from Casa and ScootRS,
this is the usual procedure when I have to rebuilt a GP crankcase with the GP endplate
(sorry bad quality pic I had a crappy camera then).

This is a Casa S3,it looks more like the original but is not as strong as the ScootRS.

Thanks for posting these pics Dimitrios. These need to be saved for future reference in the Anoraks section.

Cheers,
the forum needs some data input ;)

The closest thing to an original SX200 kickstart is the one from Tino Sacchi.

Brilliant info!

I purchased a "Casa" S2 kickstart and when it arrived it was stamped "SPAQ" (FYI SPAQ = Sterling Parts Amazing Quality: http://www.sterlingscooterparts.com from Vietnam, ex-ScootRS employees from what I remember) - The quality was ok but I wasn't happy paying £50 for something that I could get from ScootRS for half the price, I expected the CASA one to be made in Italy and be an exact copy of the original but I was sadly disappointed.

I sent the CASA one back and ordered the ScootRS one and in my opinion the ScootRS one was better, stronger and the chrome was very good and I have an extra £25 in my pocket!

It's not exactly the same shape and curve as the original but to be honest I'm quite happy that it's beefier and "touch wood" won't snap or bend!

Can be seen here:

And yes I need to adjust it so it sits on the bumpstop! :?

Cheers,

As an aside to this, I had been moaning about my Ancillotti exhaust on a previous thread and the trouble with my new (spaq sx 200) kickstart fouling on it, as well as my new stainless stand. Thanks to Demitrious' excellent info, maybe it's those 2 pieces which are no good and NOT the exhaust?? An old Li kickstart cleared the exhaust, no problem.

I only buy kickstart levers from MB now.

They are the right shape, well finished and fit properly.
