The last new layshaft I bought was best part of ten years ago and it was SIL. It’s still in use on my TS1 to this day and my natural inclination is to buy another from a reputable dealer.
Since I bought the last SIL layshaft, however, I have had issues with a poorly machined SIL kickstart shaft and SIL sliding dog which makes me think that the machining in recent years has been a bit hit and miss.
Does anyone have any fairly recent feedback on SIL layshafts ?

Anything else is suspect.

Does it have to be / can it be used with the double row bearing?
