Luna newby

Hi Lui owners
Just thinking about buying a Lui 50 but don’t know much about them. I’ve restored a 150 Special but now want another project. I found STICK’S book an absolute requisite & wondered if there is a bible for the Lui?
Also any tips. Spares seem to be scarce and more expensive. Is this the case? Also any specialist suppliers. Or even a blog like the one PAUL SLACK did on series 3.
Hope someone can help please.
Cheers SplCase

Hey there, like you I recently did a 150 spesh and now have took the plunge with a Lui.
Parts are alot more scarce(read 'expensive') than S3 stuff but are alot more available than they were a few years ago.Alot of stuff is now being remade and also kits are being made to make them more usable. There doesnt seem to be an equivalent to Stickys manual but there are lot of helpful people both on here and Luna forum. They seem to becoming alot more popular at the moment.
Good luck mate

Hi, there is a Facebook group, Lambretta Lui Vega Luna. Full of useful info and very knowledgeable folk! For parts try Torbay Lambretta (amongst others), they stock CASA parts for Vega. It`s a very good mail order shop. The Facebook group will see you right for all things Lui. Hope this helps :-)

Buy one as fully complete as possible, dont expect anything over 25-30 mph. if it's seized your going to need specialist tools and be prepared to buy a new mag housing as they rarely come out in one piece. So buy one thats had all the work done, if you want more speed go to the Vega or Cometa which as standard might get you to 45mph. Again as complete as possible. The wise money is buying one thats had the full 135 conversion and is for sale, chances are the seller has spent all the money and is making a loss, avoid the 5 speed gearbox .
