Thanks, Rich. Also, thanks for your help with the registration. I had to get a first registration number in the end. It took about 5 weeks to come through but Christmas was in that period :)

Never having ridden a Vega before, I don’t really know what to expect on the road. This is further complicated by having to run it in.

As mentioned previously, the barrel has been tweaked slightly by Chiselspeed. The exhaust has a baffle plate removed and larger diameter tailpipes and I have undertaken the mods to the airbox to get more air flowing. It’s a standard SH1/20, currently with a 75 main (standard was 68) and a 50 pilot as opposed to the 45 standard.

It is certainly loud :D The jetting still needs playing with but my gut feel is that it a standard exhaust may suit it better. Kindly, Coaster is lending me one to compare it to the one I have.

That looks fantastic. Nice work!

Is the color 'martian red'? If so, did did you use the Lechler formula that Adam Winstone had scanned with a paint spectrophotometer? Or did you get it matched from an existing piece? Regardless, it looks great!

You won't be able to wipe the smile off your face. They're ridiculously fun, if a little under powered.

Jason at Absolutely had a code. I used that, Benji. I am also getting a red GP repainted. The Lechler paint suppliers matched it by eye to a Jaguar paint. They showed me before they mixed it and it was very close if not exactly the same as the original orangey red.

Which one do you think will work best?

Well, the top speed with both exhausts, one with baffles removed and the other standard, is about the same but the torque and acceleration is much better with the standard exhaust.

I have to say, it is great fun to ride around an urban area with no hills and no wind :D
