Rebuild Order

Postby Angry Bloke » Fri Aug 26, 2016 12:59 pm

Hi - I'm just about to start my first Vega rebuild and was wondering if there was any preferential order or tips for reassembly - I had noticed that the bridge looked difficult to fit if the headset was on etc

a- Legshields
b- Cables / Loom
c- Forks
d- Bridge
e- Headset

Cheers

I might have exaggerated the 'poised' bit Peach, nowhere near stripping it yet :(

This is my rebuild order; stand, horn, legshields, forks with springs and links fitted, cables and loom, handlebar/headset (but don't tighten to forks, rear mudguard, front mudguard, engine, rear shock, rear wheel, front wheel, you can start to cable up but still don't fix handlebars to stem as you will have to lift it up to get the tunnel on. There is no kind way to say this; fitting the tunnel can be a 'mare. Some of the remade tunnel rubbers are just too thick and don't allow the tunnel to sit tight enough against the legshields. Good luck.
Paul.
