Model D 150 Types 1 and 2

D 150

On the LD it's easy to see the differences in the kickstart whereas on the D there only 'seems' to be two obvious types.

Mk1 and Mk2, is this correct please?

The kickstart mech went through a myriad of changes, some obvious, some not so much. It never got really reliable until the planetary set-up of the last LDs.

Vittorio Tessera list three versions:

'54 to mid-'55: alloy handle bar, no battery, 14mm wrist pin, round wiring socket at flywheel, smooth starter mostly with last having a support bushing, tailpipe with chrome "resonator"

mid-'55 to mid-'56: alloy bar, battery and rectifier, starter with three screw cover, tailpipe with chrome "resonator", revised rear damper location (more upright)

mid-'56 on: steel bar, no resonator, main exhaust with two brass plugs, final drive vent, 16mm wrist pin, square wiring socket at flywheel, control cable lubricators

There are other differences as well. Recommend getting the book: "Innocenti Lambretta The Definitive History with Restoration Guide"

A better book is "An Illustrated Guide to the identification of Lambretta" also by Vittorio.

I hope these books are better than "Lambretta: Illustrated Guide to the Identification'.
There were a few pages but just a few that identified parts changes. Not what I was expecting. Beautiful book but unless you are into the entire range of Lambys...
Just my 5¢
