Decent LD Rear hub tool? -Easy way to remove the hub?

Postby jdevane5 » Wed Feb 05, 2020 3:00 pm

Can anyone recommend a decent rear hub puller for a 53 LD, two hole M6.
Bought two so far from good sites that claim they fit any LD but none fit due to distance between m6 centres....

I have read on the forum its pretty difficult to get the rear hub off and various ways suggested, put the tyre on and hit, Drown in WD40, some heat etc.

Conscious there are Ali fins on the hub so do not want to hit it directly with an object.. Any pointers welcome.

Cheers :D

Can you slot the holes?

I have a couple of tools and they both fit just fine.

I find heating with a propane torch helpful once the puller is tensioned.

No, cannot slot the holes as the large boss for the extraction bolt is in the way.
I will likely make a tool up, as I cannot find one on line to buy.

Will try some heat though once I get going with the tool.

Cheers
