'56 150 D type Kickstart jamming down.

Postby chezqui » Wed Jul 22, 2020 6:17 pm

I like to jam down but my kickstart is doing it which is really annoying considering it was built by an expert.
So... any comments?
I know I have to remove it to investigate further but some pointers would be nice.

Might not be the same but the Mk2 Lds are well known for jamming up.
There's a brass bush in the KS mech which tends to be the culprit

The kickstart mech is prone to premature wear. It is common for a freshly built kickstart mech to jam down sometimes at first. As long as it doesn't stay down when it starts, it's ok. Annoying, yes. But it will get better. Mine no longer sticks down.

If you are not sure, you can take it off and give it a good greasing.
