1955 Model D 150 - Fitting battery, tray and rectifier.

Postby Big Al » Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:56 pm

I am thinking of fitting a battery, mounting tray and rectifier to my D150, which has not previously had any of these.
Can they be fitted without drilling the frame? (In other words, do they clamp on?)

I wouldn't fit the original parts as they don't work very well. Fit modern equivalents inside the butty box.

Thanks once again John.
It wasn't my intention to fit these to begin with, but I have acquired a wiring loom for "With battery", so wanted to explore the option.
I am trying to keep things original as far as possible, hence the question about these "genuine" parts!!

You can find a parts manual here:

Battery mounting here:

Mine does not have a battery but it looks like to me that the battery tray is welded to the frame. Hopefully someone with a battery model will chime in.
