1955 Model D150 - Engine re-installation

Postby Big Al » Tue Dec 29, 2020 5:22 pm

I am ready to put the engine back. The wiring loom is in place, as previously suggested, but not the torsion bar assembly. Should I leave off the cylinder head to give more space, and fit the engine before the petrol tank (which looks as if it might get in the way) ? I was thinking of fitting the torsion bar assembly after that.
Which is the best/easiest sequence?

Fit the engine first, cylinder head on, tank out. See my reply to JD Vane on 22 September for the torsion bar fitting. You will need a preloding tool to fit the link pin to the engine.

Engine installed today (with cylinder head on), and petrol tank fitted. I've also fitted the rear damper and rear wheel, so it's beginning to look more like a proper Lambretta now.
