1955 Model D 150 - Unidentified tab washer

Postby Big Al » Mon Jan 18, 2021 9:19 pm

I have an old tab washer which was bagged up with the torsion bar, the two torsion bar washers and the two circlips.
I already have the two tab washers for the figure of eight link, so what is this "spare" tab washer for please?
(I have emailed a photo to John Collier and hope he can post it here for me.)

Looks like a lock tab washer for a crank nut to me.

Thanks John.
I couldn't find anything like that in my official UK Lambretta Parts Catalogue for the 150 LD & D, but there is a Vespa drive cog nut locking tab washer for the 50/90/Primavera/PK which looks very similar.

I'm not clear why anyone needed to use it on the torsion bar assembly, but I will bin this unwanted part!!

No, that's not the tab washer for the crank - it's the tab washer for the engine pivot bolt! Similar shapes, but different dimensions.

My engine pivot bolt has a spring washer.

Hi John and Steve.
I had no obvious washer to use with the pivot bolt and nut when I went to put the bolt back in.
The Lambretta Serviceman's Book First Edition shows it as a tab washer in the photo on Page 41, but my official parts book says it is a spring washer. I bought a spring washer, but there was not enough thread showing to use it with the nut!
That makes me think that the tab washer must have come from the pivot bolt, as I'm not missing a tab washer from anywhere else. I will see if it fits.
Thanks to both of you.

I tried the washer on the engine pivot bolt, but it was too small to fit onto the bolt.

Hi Steve
You were right about the tab washer for the engine pivot bolt, but mine was clearly the wrong size.
I have now ordered the correct one (Casa Lambretta 266, Orig Part No. 07110152).
Many thanks, Alan.
