Anyone removed the engine from an F? Are there any tools that you need? Any tips appreciated.

Not many Fs about. I think you'll be the expert once you have the engine out.

Hello Mick. You could try the now-retired Lambretta guru, Howard Chambers in Southampton. He probably wouldn't want me to give out his telephone number here, but I feel sure that you could find it fairly easily.

My guess (and it's only a guess) is that because the F has a torsion bar rear suspension, it may need a special tool to release the load of the torsion bar on the linkage before the engine can be removed. A bit like the D/LD rear suspension, but on the F it's all under the engine, including the linkage. I would not attempt to dismantle the linkage without releasing the pressure, as there's a good chance of damaging something that can't ever be replaced!

You could also try ringing Scooter Restorations in Nottingham, and/or Cambridge Lambretta Workshop for advice.

Coming together, just need to work out which of the two wires coming out if the stator goes to which wire on the loom.

All done. You don't need any special tools just a very large G clamp, some rubber pads to protected engine casing and a lot of patience.
