LD Seats

Postby AAVlover » Sun Jan 01, 2017 12:27 pm

Hi - I have two seat covers on the AVV which are black and 80% OK, they just need some stitching/cleaning. Is there anyone who can restore them or do I have to replace them? If replacement, who do I go to who could do good covers and possibly in other colours?

Thanks

The seats come in black, green and tan IIRC. Any good upholstery shop should be able to make up covers in other colours if you can provide a good one as a pattern.

Cambridge Lambretta Workshop sell replacements if you think you need them:

At least this will give you a comparison to the cost of repairing, and the colours should be authentic.

Hi JB

You've kindly responded to my post about repairing LD seats, by using an upholsterer which I've tried. The problem is that the seats are backed by thick rubber and upholsterers don't have equipment to sew through that rubber. I've also tried about ten motorcycle seat repairers who state the same problem.

Do you have any contacts I could try? I'm trying to keep as much original as possible and it would be a shame to have to buy non OEM parts.

I'm in western Canada so I can't recommend anyone local. Try a tack shop or saddle maker.
