can anyone tell me if this would have been the original color? If yes, what is the color name. 58 LD Mk 3.
Thanks

Yes, it looks familiar - possibly Sand Beige (Lechler 8029), which was widely used on the Mk2 LD. I'll check my spare Mk3 frame, but I reckon the paint on mine has less of a beige colour, and is lighter.

According to Vittorio Tessera:-

The Mk3 used Earth Grey (Lechler 8041) for the majority of the frame and bodywork, although the Mk3 150 LD used a second colour for front casting, headset and sidepanels. This would be one of the following:-

Maroon (Lechler 8020)
Emerald Green (Lechler 8051)
English Blue (Lechler 8031)
Tirreno Brasil C blue (Fiat) 0401

Thanks Steve. The frame on mine is the same color pointed out. I too would say sand beige.
So are you saying the 58 would have been two tone?

Again, according to Vittorio Tessera, the Mk3 LD125 was single colour (Earth Grey), but the LD150 got front casting, handlebar cover and sidepanels in a second colour.

Most LDs I've come across have been brush painted with so many coats of Dulux gloss that determining the original colour is a task in itself! :D
