Tickets for our Tall ships Rally are now available and to make it as easy as possible here is how you can buy them:

Contact any WWSC club member or pop down to our meeting on Tuesday nights.

Mo-Tech and I Classico scooter shops have very kindly offered to sell some tickets on our behalf and currently both have tickets available.

Tickets are also available to buy online at Ticketsource (link below) at no extra cost. We list two sets of tickets, Standard and LCGB. There is no difference in the tickets, but as the event is an LCGB signing on event we have ring fenced some tickets to ensure any LCGB members have a chance to secure tickets before travelling for the championship. The LCGB tickets are currently password protected, the password is TALLSHIPS

Just found this video of the venue. The camping will be near the Vulcan and lightning.

As well as the planes and missiles there is also a military vehicle display and the bands will play in the Tram and bus shed

Posted on behalf of Wearside Wanderers SC:

Hi all. We have arranged for Jon Gilbert and Chalky from Replay Scooters to bring their Dyno to our rally. Dyno set up’s are available on Friday and possibly part of Saturday at a cost of £60.00 per hour plus parts, which we think is very good value for such high profile tuners. We are also running a dyno run competition on the Saturday after the rideout. This will cost £10.00 per run. There will be a prizes for the most powerful scooter etc. We expect quite a bit of interest for both. If you wish to book a dyno set up session please contact us via our facebooks page in order to book a slot. I for one will be doing this.
LCGB Production Class champions Team DSC will also be displaying a variety of race scooters and will also offer the use of their pit set up for repairs.

Hello all, just a quick update of the band/DJ line-up, for The Tallships Rally(13th-15th July, at NELSAM, next to Nissan plant).

We've got two hangers, at our disposal, one for bands and DJ's and one purely for DJ's, our intention, is to cover, all musical bases, so everyone leaves our rally happy.

The DJ roster includes; Goldeneye, Smtitre, Driver, Claudine, Grant, Billy no mates Mitch and John the Mod, but if anyone fancies doing a DJ s slot, contact us on FB and we'll fit you in somewhere, vinyl, CD, lap-top, it's up to you!

Live music? we've got a bit of everything!!

Friday night, inbetween the free, welcome BBQ and the best, scooter riding, rally DJ's, you're likely to hear, The Magic Beans, will be kicking out everything, from Frankie Lane, to The Pistols!!!

Saturday, we have 5 bands!! starting proceedings are; THE GAMBINOS, a balls out rock/blues band, next up are; THE OLD ME, if 80's indie/alternative tunes, are your thing, these lads, are not to be missed, local Faces(pun intended!) in a new band , are up next, THE WHITE LINE, will play all your Mod/Mod revival favourites, catch your breath, cos up next, are probably the best punk/ska covers band, in The North-East and beyond, they are, THE RABBLE ROUSERS, last, but by no means not least, are a tribute band, with a difference, TOM HINGLEY, ex-lead singer/song writer, with THE INSPIRAL CARPETS, is bringing his new band, THE KAR-PETS, to blow ye socks off, with baggy classics, such as; Saturn 5, This is how it feels etc etc!!!

All this entertainment for 15quid?? YES and remember, every penny profit, is donated to THE GREAT NORTH AIR AMBULANCE and other local charities

We have organised this event to raise money for two charities, the North East Air Ambulance and the museum hosting the event, who will receive 100% of the profits. As the costs of putting this on this event are high, the organisation difficult and the cause worthy we had assumed everyone would be happy to pay the entrance fee and had made no arrangements for day tickets. Add to this that when we did let people into our last do for the afternoon, some people abused this and stayed overnight.

After several people have asked about getting cheaper entry for a day access this time the club have got together and decided we have a solution:

We will put the signing on sheet at the gate, so those who are only after the points do not need to enter the event if they do not want to.

For those wanting day only entry, we will charge £5, but take £15 on entry and issue a weekend wristband. When you leave the site by 6pm and return your wristband we will give you £10 back.

Personally I'd be happy to pay for a day ticket even if my only intention was to sign on !

The clue is in the name of the of the LCGB Championship competition ie : BEST SUPPORTING (Member / Club)

A day pass payment (even if a token donation), would in my opinion be in the spirit of rightly supporting the host affiliated club. It would also boost the charity donation to those great causes. Surely everyone LCGB connected would support you.

Sorry to jump in, bit could I ask that someone from the WWSC speaks with Craig Standeven? (LCGB BSM Championship controller).

This suggested way forward would appear to fly in the face of what the BSM Championship is all about.

The obvious question being exactly how is someone signing on at the gate, and therefore not paying any entry fees, upporting the event?

Thanks

Toot,

we are more than happy to do whatever the LCGB wants us to do as far as the Championship is concerned, we only suggested putting the sheet at the door after our experience at our last do.

We will be delighted to insist that to sign on you must support the event, so must pay to get in and visit the stall.
