NC500

Postby Mel K » Sat Mar 21, 2020 9:26 pm

Hi
Has the NC500 for the end or April been cancelled?
Craigbsm’s locked post suggests it has

Thanks

Mel, it says a decision will be made by the end of the month as to whether it’ll be moved to later in the year. That said, who knows where we are going with this pandemic and it may just be best to cancel it rather than have people re-book accommodation again when the reality is that it may not happen. Just my view mind.

Mel, yes unfortunately NC500 is off for now.
Hopefully when things improve we will try and re arrange.

My diary tells me I should have been setting off today for this. Sadly, I can’t see us being able to attend any conventional rallies this year.

I shall take solace in this though tonight :)

Would have been day 2 today, Ullapool to Thurso , great weather forecast similar to yesterday dry with a HIGH of 7 degrees (like being abroad ). missed my local seafood at ullapool seafood shack yesterday , would probably be wee bit ruff today, beer ,red wine n whisky :) Will be reminiscing today whilst crossing the river Naver at Bettyhill . me and my family were up at Clashadie near Bettyhill at my daughter in law's family croft a few year ago ,whilst there me and my son had a go at salmon fishing on the river Naver as it's a great area for salmon fishing , we bought fishing permits at the village shop ,where we told the shopkeeper who was also the river bailiff that we were trout anglers and not salmon anglers ,although it's similar, you could tell he was thinking these clueless city slicker will catch nowt ...I caught nowt but my son caught a fish of a lifetime a salmon over 20 pound. salmon was safely returned to the river to continue it's journey up stream ...cheers shep

Waterproofs and midge spray were on my mind. Extra fuel wasn’t but, yes, looking at the lack of towns, I can see why.

Thanks, Linda. I’ve just read it again. We are doing clockwise - Inverness- Ullapool- Thurso and then back down to Pitlochry. Those are the stop offs we have booked.
