Postby dscscotty » Fri Jul 17, 2020 10:10 pm

BSSO 2nd race meeting of 2020 now confirmed. We will be racing at the "Battle of Britain" meeting held at Croft Circuit over the weekend of 5th/6th September. There will be one grid for Scooters giving us 2 races each day.
Please check with circuit before attending as spectator tickets maybe limited.

A few laps round Croft with Team DSC's Justin Price chasing his team mate Stephen Graves-#4 on board their production class RB20's

Anyone thinking of going will need to purchase a ticket on-line, this is due to accountability for tickets as a result of the circuits tight restrictions/risk assessment around covid.
This is the first time scooters have ran in conjunction with the organisers of this particular event, so hopefully we can put on a good display of racing.
There is a limited amount of track time and as a result the normal format of x2-3 stock and x2-3 super stock grid reces has had to be combined resulting in 1 grid of both stock (standard body work Grp4,4e and production class) and super stock(specials up to 250cc).meaning 2 scooter races each day, there is however lots going on with motorcycles and cars on circuit, so it promises to be a good event if motor racings your thing.

Would you Adam and Eve it! just been announced by circuit! :(

"Following a lot of extensive work to try to accommodate spectators at our forthcoming DDMC Battle of Britain race meeting on 5th & 6th September, it has been decided that the circuit will remain closed to spectators next weekend.

This is not a decision that has been taken lightly. Unfortunately, the current regulations from the relevant motor sport governing bodies prevent spectators being allowed into the paddock areas which are being used at the race meeting. This means that segregation is required between spectators and participants and only leaves a small space available for spectators. Due to the COVID-19 rules and regulations, the procedures and facilities required to keep the public safe in this area means that it is not feasible to open at this event.

We are sorry for any inconvenience but hope that fans will understand this decision in difficult times.

We very much hope that the situation changes sufficiently to allow spectators at the British Touring Car Event in October!

'Will bring you results and summary after the meeting,

cheers
Scotty
