Classic Cleethorpes my selection

Postby bamrattle » Tue Jul 08, 2014 9:56 pm

Ok folks heres the Cleethorpes rub.

Image

The trip started with my riding buddy Micky b arriving at mine on fri at 5.45am Yeah wtf i thought..
Obviously being retired now he's got fook all to do apart from get up early..
With the daunting thought of diversions & road closures around the A43 due to the f1 circus in town we eventually set of at 6.30 m27 A34

Image

This is where it all starts to go wrong, just as we approach sutton scotney we meet up with 2 lanes of solid traffic, a quick run up the middle and we find road closure signs and diversions toward the a303 not a problem we thought until we realised it sent us completely the opposite direction. Iam running a standard tank and need fuel at 50mls in. Woooowa panic set's in where is the nxt fuel stop before we get back on track.. With this in mind i draw us to a halt and quick decision we head back for the a34 and a fuel stop near sutton scotney.
A quick ring to my missus revealed the cause was a rolled over car northbound. She up dated us on the route we need was the a303 for basingstoke m3 an m25 which also avoided the f1 circus..
Great so off we go nxt fuel stop fleet services.
Troubles for mick again & this time it was his neglence when refitting the reed block and forgetting a vital countersunk screw alowing air to be draw in causing mega week mixture and eratic running, once we plugged the hole with & m6 bolt all seemed good to go..
We made great time and hooked up on the a1 around midday heres a couple at fuel stops along there.

Image

Nxt stop was chiggys as we couldnt get in the van till 3pm.

Image

Once we eventually found his new emporioum we were greeted with a great cuppa an chat, 2 spark plugs and a reed plate manifold later we headed off to the beachcomber caravan park where our shared digs with mark (start me up) & vickie (It's all about me) were already waiting..

Once in the van and changed, we were subject to several stretching excersises from vic.

Image

With the scoots cleaned and ready for saturdays custom show Mark decides self clensing to be in order, while micky struts round in his hotpants

Image

Image

All Together at the end of the day we head off to relax for the evening, a few beers and some quality toons at the do.

Nice words and pics Tornado. I thought it would be payment enough just giving you the pleasure of my company but I am sure an original oil can and a Guy Martin autobiography will make up for it, ;) . As for the pic' with Vicki, well I think she was trying to send me into anaphalactic (spelling ?) shock by forcing peanuts on to me, lol. It was a truly great weekend with top mates. Mark needs to brush up on his footwork and I need to improve my stamina though.
