A Massive Thank You from Warsop Sinners

Postby donna3122 » Sun Aug 10, 2014 8:44 pm

WSSC would like send say a massive Thank You to all that made the effort to come to our rally. The weather conditions for the Friday and the Sunday were atrocious, although the sun shone on us and the whippets all day Saturday :D

This year we used a different venue it was a lot more intimate and atmospheric than the previous one and feedback was good but I think it was the whippet training on site that tipped the scales in favour of the new venue .

A nice relaxing Saturday day turned into a lively Saturday night. "The Score" did 2 fantastic sets with the help of our very own dazzler singing his version of "Going Underground" all this topped of with the LCGB's finest Mr Collins on the decks who kept the dance floor full. Friday night we had Abba and Elvis, Saturday night bought us Slade and Sex Pistols) awesome combination of music !!!!! Thank you

WSSC and friends decided to purchase £20 worth of raffle tickets - whilst eating 10 bags of chips - and any prizes won (which there were 2) would be auctioned off for more charity money. Dazzler paid £45 for a £50 AF voucher and Andy Vass paid £20 for a mystery bag which contained 4 pair of work socks. In the end we managed to raise £432 from the raffle and auction which will be shared equally between EM Air Ambulance and Cancer Re-asearch. That's all thanks to Sue Moffatt for pestering the traders for prizes, Vicki Swinge and her side kick Leah for doing the selling Top girls all of you x

There are 2 unclaimed raffle prizes
Mic J ticket number 446 - 450
ticket number 171 - 175 ( someone from Skellow I think)

Show Winners

Tug o War winners ................... Warsop Sinners (better luck next year L & N)
Tyre Throwing ........................ Stephen Robinson

Biggest Turned out Club ............. Lincoln & Newark Riders Collective
Furthest Traveled Male ............. Martin Watts
Furthest Traveled female........... Vicki Swinge
Furthest Traveled Club ............. Solent Cougars

All custom show trophies have been claimed except for Best GP Reg No. BHY 189H so if anyone recognises this reg please let me know so that I can pass trophy on.

Once again thanks to everyone involved who made what could have been a disastrous rally into a fantastic one.
Same time, same place next year ;)
See you all at Molton next weekend
Ride safe all
Donna & Martin

The rain was nowhere near as bad as the deluge that came down as we were at jct 29 in those roadworks en route on the friday. I have NEVER EVER seen heavy duty manhole covers forced a foot off the road by water coming out of the drainage! The flooding was coming over the floor of my scoot when cars went past us. The look on those coppers faces when we told them we'd ridden up from Southampton.

First class hospitality from you all, and a mention must go out to the staff at 'the Staff' for relieving us of our soaking bike gear, and to those lovely yummy mummies, who plied us with food & drink. :)

Would've been a futile exercise, as I don't live in Southampton. 8-)

Alright alright, so I had a minor technicality starting my scooter! I know its unusual, about as common as Eden buying someone a pint! But it was those stupid paniers that were hindering my kickstart. :D

Ride safe & See u all on the next rally, or maybe not... lol
