SANDFORD

Postby mainstand » Mon Feb 26, 2018 12:56 pm

Weather's not looking good at all.

There is potential for a spell of heavy snow, accompanied by strong winds, to move slowly north through Thursday afternoon and night. There is a small chance that long delays and cancellations on bus, rail and air travel could occur. There is a slight chance that roads may become blocked by deep snow, with stranded vehicles and passengers. There is a small chance that long interruptions to power supplies and other services such as telephones, may occur.

Watching tonights weather forecast and please apply some common sense if anyone is really thinking of riding to Sandford just to sign their name on a bit of paper.

There are times that ensuring your safety is much more important.

The event should be made Null & Void as a championship round

And Just to add to that..
Dont even think about it. Get your 50 points at another rally. The main route through the New forest A31 is closed due to the Snow that fell and then covered by freezing rain.People were stranded for hrs yesterday. Local radio have said the dual carrage way that leads to sandford/wareham is closed due to the condition but could possibly be open later if they can clear it.

I agree, I know the BSM is a challenge to test you to your limits. However, this weather is really extreme!
I've done Sandford from Cumbria and battled rain deluges and snow flurries, but this is really not the weather for chasing points!
Stay safe if you do go...

Just seen this on the FB page.

Good morning all, we have just had a meeting with Parkdean and regrettably they have asked us to announce that the site at the moment will not be open and will be assessed at 4 o’clock.
They will be continually updating us and should be getting back to us throughout the day.
They will be happy to offer a refund, this will need to be agreed with Parkdean.
We will keep you updated.
We would advise not to leave home until further notice. For those who have already left home and are closer to Sandford than your home then Parkdean will accommodate you to the best of their ability.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Looks like it's been cancelled according to Facebook, surely no one will be daft enough to travel in this!

Stay safe everyone.
