Update on the LCGB Sponsored Nomad Endurance Rally 2018

Nick Prince and I leave for Morocco on 9th October, it'll take us a few days to get there and we are picking up a couple of French members of the LCGB on our way (plus an Italian)

Two Frenchmen, an Italian, a Manx man, and an Englishman walk into a bar>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> said the camel

The Nomad this year is sponsored by the LCGB but the LCGB contingent has dropped from 6 to 3.5 through injury. I count myself as a half as I'm partially sighted still so will be staying at the back and only doing the totally off road stages.

Nick is an experienced rider and I happen to know he's been practicing! But so are the other Lambretta riders so the event proves to be competetive. There is also a large contingent Spanish Vespa riders so we need on our toes.

I'll keep everyone informed via this site and facebook.

Nick Prince, Pilar (my Wife) and I are leaving for sunny Morocco in a couple of hours. Keep an eye on social media as I grapple with the 21st Century and try and post on how things are going. I may end up putting a Rug stall at the next LCGB event.

Could be handy as many members seem to be "follicly challenged "

Have a great time mate

Four LCGB members riding in the race Nick Prince (IoM), Laurant Candess (French), Ricky Lambretta (French) and me. Ill health meant that I was only going to do 4 of the 7 stages but after being let down one too many times by the organiser I decided enough was enough and retired from the event.

After\ each stage the bikes have to be repaired after falls and abuse but they keep going on. Two more stages now.

Now the hotels internet works I'll try and post placings etc when the organiser sorts everything out.

Keep an eye out for Jet Set and Scooter Nova.

Cheers Jim

Well all the participants are home. All I have to do is drive back to Malaga and get my van and scooters back. It's having a new differential fitted (the old one sounded like it was going to explode)

Well done to Ricky Lambretta 1st Laurant Candess Vss 2nd and Nick Prince 3rd. They are a credit to the LCGB.

Jim

For those that don't know the journey back from Morocco became an epic after a van breakdown near Malaga. Everyone is home and the scooters with the owners. A couple of LCGB members were great support in giving me alternatives to getting back.

I'll be reporting in Jet Set on the Nomad rally especial thanks to Nick Prince, and the LCGB Committee who sponsored the event
