The Greek Rally - 4-8 June 2015

Hi all,

Here is the "teaser" for our rally.

This will be a 5 nights tour in Pelopponese which will take place during the 1st half of the June 2015.

Since we are a non-profit club, this event will be at coast.

5 nights, six days in Greece, riding your scooters under the Greek sun, having the oportunity to see some of the most interesting places, this will be a lifetime experience
Sightseeing, parties, lot of greek food and great scenery.

we have already done the neccessary arrangements to get a generous discount on the ferry tickets for those who will decide to come to Greece via Italy.
As soon as we will have some interest from other countries as well (besides Italy) we will work also on finding a solution for the transportation of the scooters to Greece, their safe storage until the start of the event

At this moment we work on the accomodation cost so to be able very soon to determine the final cost for the participants.

Our intention is to have a variety of activities during our event. Some days with lots of miles to be covered and some other days with less driving and more time to enjoy the sun, the sea, the good food and the nice company. Because at the end of the day the most important is... the people!

We have already received some genuine interest from various people who will travel from Italy to Greece for this event and we hope to have some more people coming from other countries as well.

We know very well that the Eurolambretta 2015 will take a place in Austria more or less the same days to our event. To be honest, we do not intend to supersede that event. And we do not intend to have hundreds of participants in our rally. We do prefer to keep it in a limited number of entries, so to have the chance to be all together and feel like all of us being a part of some specific group.

The dates of the event may be not exactly the dates appearing on the "teaser". They can be moved 1-2 days back or forward, but this is something we are working at the moment and will be anounced soon.

Hi all,

we are still working on the event's web site and facebook page, which we hope to have on the air in a few days.

At least we can now confirm the dates, the hotels and the main cities of the event:

LAMBRETTA CLUB HELLAS will be the organizer of the THE GREEK RALLY which will take place in Peloponnese[1] from 4th to 8th June 2015

THURSDAY 4 JUNE
our guests will arrive at the port of PatraS[2] either sailing from Bari or Ancona with SUPERFAST FERRIES[3]
Ferry from Bari arrives at the port 13:00
Ferry from Ancona arrives at the port 14:30
Overseas participants will start the rally upon their arrival and they will be destined to Nafplio[4] where they will spend the night in AMALIA HOTEL NAFPLIA [5]
In the meantime the Greek participants will be ordered to start their rally from Athens with their destination being the same: AMALIA HOTEL NAFPLIA.
A dinner will take place in the hotel so to give us the chance to welcome our guests.
total distance abt 210 kms

FRIDAY 5 JUNE
DAY2 for all the participants, who will leave in the morning the hotel and ride their scooters towards Ancient Epidaurus[6]
After a visit and a guided tour in the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus the participants will return to Nafplio early afternoon
participants will stay over AMALIA HOTEL NAFPLIA
ttl dist: 110 kms

SATURDAY 6 JUNE
DAY3 = THE RALLY DAY
Participants will leave the hotel in the morning and ride their scooters through some very interesting country roads.
This will be the Regularity Day[7]. Full of navigation, time controls and special stages where the participants will be ordered to follow a prescribed route with check points and to be accurate on the average speed requested by the organizer.
This day will include a lot of riding, and will be divided into smaller sections for some rest and regrouping.
At the end of the day the participants will arrive at the hotel which is located in the west side of the Peloponnese.
stay over at ALDEMAR OLYMPIAN VILLAGE[8]
ttl dist: 300 kms

SUNDAY 7 JUNE
DAY4 for the participants, who will leave in the morning the hotel and ride their scooters towards Ancient Olympia[9]
After a visit and a guided tour Epidaurus the participants will return to the hotel very early in the afternoon.
Trophy ceremony and farewell party in the night
participants will stay over ALDEMAR OLYMPIAN VILLAGE
ttl dist: 70 kms

MONDAY 8 JUNE
DAY5
participants will leave the hotel early in the afternoon and ride directly to the port of Patras.
Ferries sail from Patra: 17:30 to Ancona and 18:00 to Bari.
ttl dist: 90 kms via highway or 92 kms via country roads.

Notes:

a) entry fee will be announced this week and will include 4 nights in the above hotels with breakfast and dinner. But this will not include the ferry tickets. ferry tickets will be booked directly between the participants and the ferry company, at a discount which will be announced in the next days.
b) we intend to have some vans and a trailer to follow the participants...carrying their baggage plus regular spare parts be used for some common breakdowns
c) visits in the archeological sites may be an option for the participants and not obligatory, although highly recommended. So this way, some people who may feel tired of the previous day's riding or they may prefer to do something else (visiting the town , going to the beach or just staying in the hotel drinking beers and jumping into the pool) they may decide and do anything they wish
d) the above distances are being based on approximate estimations. So please don't consider them being definite. The final schedule/routes/timetables will be announced in due time.
e) Only Lambretta scooters will be accepted to enter the Rally (please accept our apologies for not accepting Vespas or other scooters)
f) photos of the hotels can be seen through their web-sites mentioned below

Ive travelled through every European country Nassos doing many hundreds of thousands of km's over the years and know most of it like the back of my hand but Greece was and still is one of my favourites,its roads are unique and coastline has unrivalled beauty

How do you do it for the price, absolute bargain ...

I know Andy.
We are giving the event for less than what it will actually cost. Due to the fact that we would not be able to say if there will be 30, 50 or 150 scooters, it was very difficult to attract any sponsors. So we have decided our club to sponsor a part of the entry fee of each participant using the club's funds. And if there are any sponsors, they will be more than welcome If not, we will have spent some money so to have some good friends with us and enjoy the Greek scenery together.

Anyway, we understand that our guests from abroad will have to bare the cost of bringing themselves and their scooter down here. Especially our friends from UK who are going to spend some more money to reach Ancona or Bari and get the ferry to Greece.
But on the other hand, we strongly believe that this will be a life item experience to all of you, so it does worth the time and the expenses

We have already got 30% discount on the ferry tickets.
As soon as they will have confirmed their 2015 prices, we will be able to let you know the exact cost of the ferry tickets

1 person (inside cabin with 4 beds) + 1 scooter = 235 euro

both ways.

Those prices must be discounted as well surely Nassos as a few years ago Ancona-Patras was vastly more expensive, it was for a car but even so seem very cheap.Its a good alternative and a cheaper way into Greece from the south of France/Italy than the more treacherous route Croatia and Abania

Payment will be done directly to the ferry company's account and is not being included in the event's entry fee.

above costs in GBP are on the basis of 1,25 rate between GBP and Euro

comment: we suggest you use the above prices as a guidance.
Checking via the SUPERFAST website, it is not easy to determine the cost as there are some extra charges (i.e. fuel surcharge approx €5-€15 per route and this applies to both passenger's and vehicle's ticket. Discount is not applicable in this surcharge)

general booking instructions:

- Ferry booking will be done directly between the participants and the ferry company

- Do not book your ferry tickets via any other source or agent. It MUST be done via the call center of the ferry company

- Lambretta Club Hellas will not be responsible for your booking. Due to SUPERFAST being a very popular ferry company on the Adriatic routes, we recommend you book your tickets well in advance and please do NOT leave it to the last minute.

- The discount we have obtained on ferry ticket prices only applies to passengers, cars, trailers and scooters. There is no discount for vans or trucks. If you want to bring a van / truck to Greece please get in touch with us here at the Lambretta Club Hellas and we will do our best to obtain discounted tickets, although this is not guaranteed.

- The above rates can be combined and are applicable even if you use different routes on the incoming and outgoing journeys. For example, you could arrive via Ancona – Patras and then return via Patras - Bari.

- ONE WAY bookings are also possible for those who do NOT intend to use a ferry for their way of return (for example, those who wish to travel North overland to the Austrian Euro Jamboree to be held the following weekend).

- Subject to availability on the ferries, you can also book to arrive earlier and depart later if you wish to remain in Greece for an extended holiday period.


4 steps for your booking

1. Complete the Rally entry form and send it to us at : info@lambretta-club.gr
(you may pay the entry fee at a later stage - we just need to have your entry form so to allow you to book your discounted ferry tickets)

2. The organizers will confirm your entry and notify SUPERFAST with your name(s) and number plate(s) of the vehicle(s). Only then will you be eligible for the discounts

3. You can either call +30 210 8919 700 (language: English) or
email Superfast at : callcenter@attica-group.com (language: English or Italian)

to proceed with your booking by just telling them that you are travelling for the event of LAMBRETTA CLUB HELLAS

4. If you are traveling as a group, you can share the same cabin. If this is the case, please book your ferry at the same time and notify SUPERFAST that you wish to share a cabin.
