to answer questions... it's an import bought from Marco at Scooter Emporium... a true gent and a good price for the scooter...

I don't have too much free time, so I'll get Rob Skipsey to do the reg for me

I'll be fitting front dampers, with billet brackets from lth...

At the moment it has a great spark on the existing points system, but I will be fitting a new crank with the rt kit ... can I still keep the points set up as the taper on the flywheel is different, so will need a new one??...

Keeping the front hub as is, (no disc brake atm) as long as I can get it working well... on a lambretta?? ...May be a tough job

when I fit the RT kit, i'll also fit all new bearings and seals as well as a new clutch

The stator may need the bore to be opened up, but should otherwise work with a GP crankshaft.

The most reliable scooter I ever owned was an unmolested GP 150 that I added 200 forks & a disc brake to along with a modified exhaust that we used to call 'straight through' though the tailpipe diameter was marginally increased.

You could do worse than try something similar for a while, as I would think it very likely that the similar barrel, preferably a 22 mm Dell'Orto & an unrestricted exhaust should comfortably enable a genuine 70 mph to be achieved just by allowing it to rev on. From what I read on here, many spend a fortune & hardly achieve that...

IMHO, tuning begins with optimising what you have.

Money saved can then often be spent on a better front end set up & a 12 volt (points!) conversion to better see where you are going @ the higher rate of knots..... ;)

That's a nice looking scooter & I like the sound of your upgrades (I love engine builds), so I'll be watching with interest ;) 8-)

I've now bought 3 scooters from Marco & Steve, they're top geezers :D My latest purchase will be with me in the next few weeks, but renovation will have to wait as I'm recovering with a broken ankle after being knocked off my 750

Good luck & make sure you post plenty of pics.
Cheers
Jim

so, The 195 kit is on... carb needs fine tuning....

there was fun on the way...(it's a lambretta)

rear brake shoes were welded to the post... this kinda thing was going to rear it's head more than once... I think the scooter must have been sat somewhere for ages..

Anyway, persuaded those off, new posts, shoes clips etc, works a treat now...

Same with front hub, shoes were solid.... spend ages with easing spray, eventually came off.... new shoes etc, now good to go....

Engine back in and fired up....

Only ignition circuit working, no other electrics,... think all the solder joints had completely dried out so ignition switch and horn/dip switch were useless...

taken them off, replaced with scootopia ones, perfect fit and everything works now.. just the brake light switch to fit as the old one is completely shot

I was particularly gutted at the ignition switch as it's got its original key... so will see if Jem Booth can recommision for me...

body work polished up a treat and all the panels are in great nick... just a big gouge in the headset, so will take the opportunity to take it back to original white colour

putting all the cables in next

got a pair of tyres and tubes from Martin Corrado, so will take the old rims off the existing very old tyres, restore the original Innocenti rims and job's a good un

Rob Skipsey is on the case with the registration process, so hopefully not too log before she's on the road!

What about the bottom fitting? Shocky should have links to suit with welded studs. I've got BGM top mounts if you've not already got LTH ones.
