German Market TV175 Rusto

I thought I would share some photos of my German Market Tv175 Rusto.
I bought this approximately 1 year ago after having seen it come up for sale on FB. It was a little bit of a punt as from the photos it was hard to tell whether i was buying a rot box or something special. German Market Lambrettas are a rare beast, never mind those retaining their original accessories. I hoped to clean it up and keep fairly standard.
It was looking somewhat unloved and sorry for it self but it cleaned up better than I anticipated.
The biggest challenge of the build was to free the engine up. Seized solid would be an understatement! I tried all sorts but it would not budge, in the end after having destroyed the mag housing I decided to cut the crank. This was made difficult by the fact I could only lift the barrel about 10mm from the casing face. With genuine TV barrels hard to find it important to retain it without breaking it.
DSC Scotty rebored the barrel and a oversize piston was sourced.
