Thanks,

Most of it is here in Belfast and some local runs with the Ulster Lambretta Club. But some were from the Wild Atlantic Way run in Ireland and Northern Ireland last year and there’s one clip from my France trip a couple of years ago.

There really are some tw@ts on the road.

I think that taking part in racing gives us much, much better road craft skills. Within limits, you can be as aggressive as you like on the track, but only with yourself & your bike.

Back on the road, you can go as fast as you dare but very, very defensively. The real skills are being able to embarrass others on the twisty bits, not in a straight line.

Reaction times are critical & you are not the only one to have taken extreme, evasive action. Overtaking on a dual carriageway, as I commenced, the first car, oblivious of our prescience, also started to overtake. I had no option other than to cross over the (smooth) central reservation, facing two lines of opposing traffic, & drive on to the breakdown lane.

Fortunately, my pillion was already wearing brown cords. It was the 70's, after all.

You're right. There's an English based member of our club in the video (he's probably reading this) who storms through bends really well and always leaves me for dead.

Bonkers good that! Brought back so many seat of pants moments, not enough 'hand signals' mind ;) The 'real ride' soundtrack edit as a Pee range was blasted past was genius
