Facebook users may recognise my Serveta 150 Special but not posted on before here I don't believe. Belonged to a school friend who bought it new September 1980. It has its original 1 owner log book & its 1 and only tax disc along with original keys & accessories that were shop fitted prior to purchase. It was ridden for 12 months in and around the Coventry area adding up 1700 miles. It then found its way to an agricultural unit on the outskirts of Coventry for the next 37 years. I purchased it and then entered it at VMSC Show Coventry 2019 as I found it, still covered in dust, some rust & mice nests where it picked up 2 trophies.
Next was to try to get her running after standing for so long. The intention was to keep it as original as possible with the help of good friend Michael Waters (Magpie Scooters). Amazingly it only had a few minor problems. Electrical faults were as expected, points stuck together, indicators, horn, & lights not working. Fuel tank was crusty so cleaned and sealed. Spanish fuel tap blocked. It now stands with non original parts to the scooter being fitted are the original carb from my SX150 and an Italian fuel lever plus the original Spanish tap still fitted to the bridge piece. It runs beautifully but then again in a way it is almost new . Reliability may be an issue at some point but it has just shy of 2000 miles on the clock now following a couple of 100 mile trips around the Cotswolds. No intention of doing lots of miles on it but it is a lovely slow ride around the country lanes.
