Very nice scooter, I’ll watch with interest.

Personally I’m a big fan of the RT small block kit having just done the Derby rally on one which is fitted with a 25mm PHBL and a BGM version 4
Bit concerned it wouldn’t pull the 4 8 final drive having listened to some advice, but it was fine

They are very good. They might look like old hat, but they don't handle like it. Probably the best tyre I've ever fitted.

Same setup as me bar it being reedvalved ;) very happy with it

Thanks. I'm really pleased with it, but it's in my mate's lockup until I sell the special I've just built (my last ever lambretta :lol: )

Initially I'm going to run it totally standard, but will probably end up with the SR kit I have, a 60/115 crank, clubman, 25phbl through a modified airbox that I also have. Nothing special, probably around 10bhp. But a lot more than a 125.

I've decided to do this, leave it completely standard. there's a tuned RT230 in my LI series 3 bitsa if i want to go a bit quicker. And I have a spare casing that I'm going to build into a 65x62 torquey, lowish power motor with the same wiring and cable interface. That way, I can swap them in half an hour and keep this one how the good lord intended. If I ever sell it, I won't be selling with a box of parts, that will inevitably get lost; I'll sell it with the original rebuilt motor, still as a 125.

We all hang on to those stupid little parts that we'll never use, but every now and then we find a use for them....

This old badge has been in a box above the workbench for years. The original badge was still on, but the pins had broken off and it was held on by some twisted fuse wire.

Now, I need a kickstart rubber. Can't be arsed with trying to force on some stupid old perished piece of rubber, but I don't know what colour s2 rubbers were...grey or black?

Always black from factory. Same with center stand boots.

I need a splash plate. Does anyone have a late series 2 (same as series 3) that they'd sell? Only if it's original paint grigio alba.

I think the last s2 are same as s3. They have s3 style stand fixings so it makes sense.....I think, but I'm really not confident.

Headlamp reflector is goosed but I can't find an identical one. Does anyone know where I can find one?

There was an old reflector in my boxes of stuff that I have managed to make work but I'm not really happy with it. So it's either new identical CEV one or get it re-silvered but that's going to cost near to £100!

Are these type with notches normal? New to me, but I don't have much experience with series 2.

Double sided tape and silver foil it works and you can’t tell through the glass.

I've found a couple of things when rebuilding the front hub.

First was that the spindle was way too tight in the bearings. I had to really whack it to get it out but it's straight as a die. 10 minutes with some emery cloth and it's a sliding fit.

Second is that the spacer tube is missing. Having gone through my big box of shit, I thought I'd found one, but I'm not sure that it isn't just a random piece of tube I have lying about.

Can anyone confirm the dimensions please? Mine is:
14 inside, 18 outside, 64.7mm long.

as long as it slides onto the spindle, the main dimension is the length as it acts as a spacer between the 2 x bearings bud
