Today's effort- doesn't look much but it took ages to get the toolbox and tank in properly.

Stand and mudguard fitted.

Q : Do the mudguard fixing bolts fit from the outside , nuts & washers on the inside or vice versa? The reason I ask is because the restoration blog shows bolt heads on inside of the mudguard, but SR exploded parts diagram shows nuts & washers on the inside. Or does it even matter ?

Engine ready for test fitting. I'm concerned that the tank cut out and standard toolbox arrangement won't provide enough space for the dellorto 34'mm carb. I dry fitted the panels, tool box and engine but not with the carb....doh!

And my new offset frame cones don't fit flush with the frame tube. Even with the overspray removed. I'm going to have to dig out the old original ones and compare them

Engine in. Carb fits ok and there seems to be enough space with and without rider load.

Hi did you manage to get the off set cones in? looks tight for the throttle cable!

Yes - the finish on the new cones was rough compared to the old ones - I just rubbed them down until smooth and they now fit.

Re the throttle yes - very tight !- I've ordered a 90' elbow- when I sit on the seat the carb moves downwards creating more space between the tank so as long as there is enough room unloaded it should be ok...

Next job forks .

How do?
I put my forks in 1st this works a treat strapping the front end down

Forks assembled and on no problem - but they do feel much stiffer than my li150 forks - could be because I used progressive springs - might have to change them if they feel too hard on on road .

Cables and wiring next...

Bit more work - coming together nicely now ... Progress gets halted due to missing parts that I thought I'd ordered then can't find. So I order them, wait two days for the delivery and then find the original parts ! Very annoying - happened more than once - it must be my age... They will come in useful for the next project though!!!!

Thinking about a SIP speedo...yes or no....?

If you're going to install temp sensor definitely yes.

If you just want speedo accuracy then no; doesn't really matter how fast your speedo is telling you unless your license is in jeopardy and as they exaggerate you're on the safe side with cheap Indian ones.

No long now til completion.....engine being sorted & ported and should all be up and running next week ready for mot...can't wait !!!!!

Looks fab I'm bet you are cuffed with the overall finish. How tight were the cables on the carbin the end?
