Postby duncan1958 » Mon Jun 30, 2014 10:48 pm

I will endevour to post from start to where I am now with this project photos and text wise.
Image
This is how I bought this unfinished project some years ago.
Collected parts over some period of time ,engine parts, seat, exhaust etc.
Image
At the time of purchase I was going to be returning to live in the UK then things changed where I live so I boxed it up after dismantling with all the parts I had bought.
Image
So here it is now sitting on a bench in my garage, this was last yearMay or June time.
Image
Pizza box used for template before transfering to sheet steel.
Image
Image
Rear mudguard is fibreglass one trimmed down to suit, rear lamp is from Aprilla Habana also cutdown in height.
Image
Side stand is modified from standard twist and go one bought from local flea market with piece of twisted bar left over from some building job.
Image
Image
Not sure I like the drop bars.
Image
Should be sturdy enough mount for rear hugger.
Image
Rear lamp close ups.
Image
Filler work on legshields
Image
Cleaning up of the horn casting
Image
My mantra was dry build dry build
Image
Dont like the gap between tank and frame tube.
Image
So out with the fruit and fibre cereal box for another template this time for a tool box.
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Even the seat is getting modified.
Image
It will of course be recoverd.
Pulling apart for paint.
Image
Now ready for primer.
Image
Image
Slight backwards step to fabricate mounts for front brake cylinder.
Image
Trip to local bike breakers turned up this head lamp unit.
Image
Oh and these handle bars.
Image
Oh I now remember why I reassembled I would not have been able to work safely on the setting up of the handle bars etc on the bench.
Image
Dash panel mock up in cardboard.
Image
I went with a Lambretta speedo
Image
Front wheel got polisehd by me before painting the centre.
Image
Image
Blue base goes on.
Image
Image
Then the blue metalflake
Image
These photos of the frame painted were taken back in March of this year (I think)
I will upload more to photobucket of where I am at now in due course.
I felt I should take/make the effort to repost for all to see after loosing so much from the forum it was the least I could do.

Thanks for comments Rich,
Next batch of photos ,taken from the 12th of June up till last weekend.
Image
Frame and all the parts came out of the house and back into my garage/workshop.
All assembly now being done on the floor because if I put together on the bench I would not be able to get the scooter off on my own.
Image
Engine assembled new bearings, oil seals, clutch.
Mild clean up of ports and casing.
175 barrel piston head set up of unknown source apart from flea bay that is.
Front wheel engine in, along with leg shields etc etc
Image
Image
Cables and loom all run through the frame.
Tool box and other items gone on.
Image
Image
Carb was picked up at my local flea market for 15 euros if I remember its a PHBH 26mm will need rejetting but at that price it was a steal.
Image
Now these levers you see here I quite like.
Because they do this.
Image
Bend backwards not snap off .
Bought while on holiday, along with these mirrors and mounting brackets.
Image
Starting to look like a complete scooter all be it a cut down one !
